We have been crazy-busy around here. Is it really September 19th? And what is up with the gas shortage today? These are crazy times...
Sofia turned 14 months old on the 11th. She's into everything and has even figured out how to open the locks we put on the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. She just looks at us and laughs when she gets one of them open. So much for baby-proofing! This morning she said "ceev off". Translated, that means "tv off". We're celebrating that as her first sentence! At least she's stopped talking about "boobies" for a while. :0)
Yesterday I let her have the chalkboard easel we got her for her birthday. It's been patiently waiting in the closet. She's tired of her slide (and I'm tired of it cluttering our living room), so I brought in something new. (My mom is an advocate of rotating toys so they don't get bored with everything at once. It's been key for us here - works every time! The slide will reappear in a couple months when it's too cold to play outside.) I'm including a picture of her first drawing...an abstract work in her preferred medium - yellow chalk.
