As you may have heard, we recently issued an APB for La-La, the penguin puzzle piece. For some reason, Sofia loves this one sea creatures puzzle piece and carries it around every day.
All of a sudden, La-La went missing...and stayed away for two very long weeks. Every day, Sofi would work herself into tears asking for La-La. "La-La go?" she would say...over and over. She was so upset that it would almost put ME in tears. We searched several stores hoping to replace the puzzle that Nanny bought her, but to no avail. It was getting so bad around here, that I even took the request to the Lord. Yes, I prayed that God would help us find that stupid penguin!
And then...the night before Christmas Eve, the three of us were hanging out after dinner when Sofia started tuning up about it again. We decided to pull out flashlights and search the whole place for the 50th time. When nothing turned up, we went back to the living room and sat down, trying to distract Sofia with another toy. I just happened to go to the overstuffed chair...slip my hand under the overstuffed arm, feeling down into the deep, dark crevices...and out came La-La! I have no idea how she managed to get that piece wedged in there, but I didn't care. It was a Christmas miracle!! Sofia squealed and clapped her hands, kissed the penguin...and then threw La-La on the floor and hasn't touched it again.
